What helps us most

A link to the official source: your city's new rent index PDF, the gazette with an amended municipality list, or the section of the Civil Code that makes you doubt a result. For a calculation, please include the address from your browser bar; it carries your inputs but no name or address. Every confirmed error is fixed and added as a test case, as the editorial policy describes.

Embedding the rent check

Tenant associations, advice centres, property managers and newsrooms can embed the rent check free of charge: the code is on the embed page.

What we do not do

We do not review leases or letters, draft complaints or refer anyone to law firms. For your own case, the local tenants' association, your city's tenant advice service or a lawyer can help.

Response time

Usually within five working days, new rent indexes and ordinances first. We check every value at least every 12 months and whenever the rules change.
